In 1996, 25 people from 3 youth groups held the first BIG HOUSE work camp in Athens, Texas where volunteers scraped and painted Mt. Selman UMC north of Jacksonville, Texas. In the years since that camp,  BIG HOUSE  has grown from the original 25 participants in one camp to now having over 1000 participants who have worked in 12 camps this past Summer.
